Making Windows Boot Fast : Tip I Clean startup menu
Want to start this blog with some windows tips.
Ever wondered why your windows PC or Laptop takes that long after you sign in the Login Screen.
If you feel that it is slower than before, or what you remember from when the system was new, try these tips.
I will cover 1 tip in each of these blogs.
Hope it will be useful to every one.
(May not be useful for the Techie Geeks)
Tip 1
Check how many items you have in the Startup menu.
Some of the software we install use startup menu to pre-launch it s application.
Vendors use this option to make the application start faster. Problem is we don't use all of these in our daily use and hence you are launching some application that you don't need.
Each process that is started slows down the startup time and also consumes Memory and CPU.
Click on Start -> Programs -> Startup
Check and clean all these. It is safe to remove the unnecessary stuff.
By doing this you are not removing the installed software. You are removing a link
pointing back to the install directory of the software.
As a caution you can copy and paste the Startup folder to a different name.
