Shortcut for Paste Special

Microsoft Excels Paste Special command is used often. I always wondered why Microsoft keeps the paste special way inside the menus.

Here is way to have a quick access to it.

you can add the command to the Quick Access toolbar. This procedure is tested and will work on Excel 2007.

  • Click the Office button and then click Excel Options.
  • At the left side of the dialog box click Customize.
  • Use the Choose Commands From drop-down list to choose All Commands.
  • In the list of commands, choose Paste Values.
  • Click the Add button. The command is copied to the right side of the screen.
  • Click OK.

When ever you want to paste just the values, you can click on the new toolbar button.

Close a tab ctrl + W (mac: ⌘ + W)

Reopen a closed tab ctrl + shift + T (mac: ⌘ + shift + T)

Add Bookmarks With a Single Click :

Making Windows Boot Fast : Tip III msconfig

Disable services and startup programs from msconfig menu.

Use Start menu and run msconfig as shown in the left.

You will see the "System Configuration Utility" Menu as shown below.

Click on Startup tab. Un-select some of the services that are not regularly used.

As an example in my case i have
VNC Server, MySQL server that i don't use on a daily basis.

Under the General tab select "Selective Startup".
